About the HAIRraising Fund

Boston Children’s Hospital’s HAIRraising Fund supports Boston Children’s Hospital’s Heart Center.

Hair legends John Frieda and Gail Federici founded HAIRraising in 2010 as a way for the salon and beauty industry to give back.  HAIRraising is a one day cut-a-thon, with hundreds of salons participating, to raise money for Boston Children’s Hospital’s HAIRraising Fund supporting the Heart Center.

This year, HAIRraising will take place on April 29, 2018.

Now in its ninth year, HAIRraising has raised over $1,000,000 thanks to the big-hearted salons who selflessly open their doors, offer special services, and give their time to give hope to others.

You can learn more about Gail Federici and John Frieda’s “work of heart” by visiting www.hairraising.org.  Book a special appointment on April 29 to look your most beautiful outside, and feel your most beautiful inside!

You can change a child’s future….in a heartbeat!  From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you in advance.

About Boston Children’s Hospital’s Heart Center

At Boston Children’s Hospital we’re always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible through clinical research and medical breakthroughs that save lives and transform how health care is delivered. With an almost 150-year history of pioneering advances in children’s medicine—many of which also improve adult care—Boston Children’s has a pedigree of driving innovation. We are the world’s largest research enterprise at a pediatric institution and receive more National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding than any other pediatric medical center. We’re also the top-ranked children’s hospital in the nation—number 1 on the U.S. News & World Report “Best Children’s Hospitals” 2017-18 Honor Roll.

Nowhere has the drumbeat of discovery sounded more strongly than in our shaping of pediatric cardiovascular care. We pioneered it. From the first child’s heart surgery 80 years ago to the first cardiac fetal intervention 60 years later, our world-renowned Heart Center has shaped and reshaped pediatric cardiology across the globe. Our physician-scientists have led many of the most important developments in children’s heart care in the last two decades, from giving children born with underdeveloped hearts true double-ventricle physiology to building the first artificial heart valves designed for children’s growing bodies. It’s no wonder why we have been consistently ranked among the best pediatric cardiovascular centers by U.S. News & World Report every year since such ratings began.
